The categories we use
Strictly necessary
These make the site work and set no tracking cookies. They cannot be switched off. At present this category contains a single cookie:
- ah_consent — records the cookie choice you made, so you are not asked again on every page. Stored for twelve months.
Analytics
Used only with your consent. We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages are read. This tells us what to improve. Google sets its own cookies for this purpose, typically for up to two years, and we configure it to respect your choice through Google Consent Mode.
Marketing
Used only with your consent. These measure the performance of any advertising we run and allow more relevant ads to be shown elsewhere. If you leave this category off, no advertising storage is created.
Cookies set by other sites
Some pages link to services we do not control, including LawPay for payments. Once you follow such a link, that provider’s own cookie and privacy practices apply. Video and rating widgets embedded on a page may also set cookies when they load.
Browser controls
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and offers a "do not track" setting. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working, including remembering this very choice.
